Make money taking photos? Sure! As long as you have a digital camera, a computer and internet connection, then you have what it takes to make money taking photos. I know what you’re thinking. If you’re not a professional photographer, how on earth can you make money with your digital photos?

The answer lies in stock photo websites. You might not be familiar with all of the technical terms, but if you manage to take good pictures every now and then, you don’t have to worry about a thing. By following these simple steps, I’m confident that you can and will make money taking photos!

What are stock photos?

First of all, stock photos are pictures used for all kinds of presentations and advertising materials. You might have some of them already installed in your computer (programs like Adobe usually have great stock photos).

These images usually come with key words that can help categorize them all. For example, a picture of a handshake and one of a thumbs up can fall under “Business.” Some keywords are even as specific as “American Food” or “Asian Business.”

Now that I know what stock photos are, what comes next?

There are a lot of stock photo websites that cater to different tastes and needs. Your job is to submit your photos to these websites, so that they can sell them to companies or individuals who need original images for their presentation or advertising material.

Most of these websites ask for an uncompressed image of at least quality 8 in Photoshop. You are only allowed to submit your original creations. This is how you make money taking photos.

How do I increase the chances of my photos getting accepted?

You can learn a lot just by browsing through all the other photos in these websites. Don’t be intimidated by the idea of putting your snapshots out there. Your fellow photographers have just learned how to make money taking photos, and you can leverage from their knowledge and experience.

One way you can get ahead of everybody else is by being creative with your pictures. You can use symbolism and make sure your images are 100% sharp (unless blurriness is your concept).

Do not take pictures of anything with copyrights attached to it (such as logos) or with anyone. Any person in the picture (or the owner of the logo) should sign a model release to ensure that you have their permission to include and sell any photo where they (or their copyrighted image) are included. Since this could be a big hassle, it might be a good idea to avoid taking snapshots of anything with people or logos in them. The more you take pictures, the sooner you’ll find your niche in photography.

The Internet offers a wide variety of opportunities for budding photographers. Take advantage of this and start to make money taking photos. This is just a start-up guide, but you’ll soon find out that there’s a lot more you can explore as you become more familiar with stock photography.

David Peters asked:

hy in the past was considered to be an art. You need to learn all about photography before you can consider yourself as a real professional photographer and you also need to apply the things you learned as well as take really good pictures. In the past, photographers learned about focal length, exposure value, film speed, shutter speeds and other photography stuff. Also, you need to use an old adjustable film camera as well as a light meter in order for you to know what kind of light settings you are in.

Also, in the past, you will need to learn how to develop films in to photos. Some people even converted their basements in to makeshift dark rooms while others just settled for the toilet.

Today, photography is still considered as an art but it\’s really much simpler now. With digital cameras, you will see that photography is now about point, shoot, upload and print. You don’t even need dark rooms anymore as the photos are now stored as digital format which you can readily upload to your computer and print in your printer.

Editing photos today are also much simpler than it was before. Today, all you need is a special software program called Adobe Photoshop. Most professional photographers use Adobe Photoshop to edit and enhance the pictures they take. The great thing about this particular software is the tools available which can help you manipulate photos. For example, if you took a picture in poor lighting condition, you can easily adjust the brightness, contrast, color intensity and other factors and make it look like you took the picture in a perfect environment with the best lighting condition possible.

Adobe Photoshop is also filled with other features that can make your photos look like it was taken by a professional. If you do headshots of your friends or family, then you will be able to make them look much more beautiful. Even if they don’t have any make up on, you will be able to make them look like they wore make up with Adobe Photoshop. You can even remove facial imperfections, such as pimples and scars.

In fact, Adobe Photoshop has tools that will even make someone obese look like a supermodel. Of course, everyone wants to look younger. With Adobe Photoshop, you can make wrinkles and other age marks disappear. This is how powerful Adobe Photoshop is.

The red-eye phenomenon is another problem that many photographers, professional and amateurs alike, are facing. Even with the latest red-eye reduction features of the latest digital cameras, red-eye will still appear in some of the photographs. Adobe Photoshop has red-eye detection tools, which will detect and eliminate the red-eye.

Also, you need to remember that there are quite a lot of photos out there that didn’t stand up to the test of time, especially very old photos. If there are damages, such as tears, water stains, and fading, you will be able to repair these damages on the old photos and make them look as if it was taken and developed yesterday. You will need a scanner for this job.

Adobe Photoshop is also filled with great effects tools that will be able to convert black and white photos in to colored photos and vice versa. As you can see, Adobe Photoshop is indeed a great software program that you should definitely have. With this, you can be sure that every photograph you take will look fantastic.

Create a video blog…instantly.

David Peters asked:

ooking for a way to improve how you take your pictures? Even if you have that ultra expensive SLR camera, you just can\’t seem to do what the professional photographers do best, which is to take professional looking photographs. You have all the latest photography accessories and still you can\’t take high quality pictures. You need to remember that before professionals develop the photos they take, they first edit it using a photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.

Today, Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular photo editing software programs available today. It is very easy to use and it also provides all the necessary tools you need in order to edit your digital photos.

For example, if you want to make someone look a little bit younger, you can simply edit out the wrinkles and age spots using the smudge tool in the Adobe Photoshop. The liquefy gallery in Adobe Photoshop also has tools that will make someone fat look thinner and vice versa. This is only a sample of what this photo editing software can do.

In fact, even if you took pictures in bad lighting condition, you can easily edit the photo using Adobe Photoshop and make it look like as if it was taken with a very good lighting condition. As you can see, this is usually what professional photographers do. They are able to get the best lighting conditions because they make it so by using Adobe Photoshop.

There are quite a lot of tools that you can use in Adobe Photoshop. You can paste objects from another picture in to another picture. For example, if you want to be beside a celebrity, you can do it with Adobe Photoshop. By adjusting the lighting effects as well as doing a bit of erasing and editing, you can make it look like it was real.

In fact, you can even change the clothes of someone with Adobe Photoshop. It may require a bit of work, but it will produce great results. These are just some of the few things that you can do with Adobe Photoshop. There are so many effects that you can try with this software.

Another great effect is by turning old black and white photographs new again. If you have a scanner, you can scan the old black and white photographs and repair or restore it. In fact, some professional photographers can even make the black and white photographs in to colored photographs by just using this photo editing software.

There are so many possibilities that you can do with Adobe Photoshop. Although it may be hard to master especially when you are just a beginner in the world of photo editing, you will see that with experience, you will be able to get the hang of it and start converting your amateur looking photographs in to professional looking ones.

With the tools that Adobe Photoshop needs, you can be sure that any pictures you take will be able to become something magical. Whether you have a problem with the red eye phenomenon, or the bad lighting conditions, you can be sure that Adobe Photoshop will be there to rescue you.

So, the next time you take pictures with your SLR camera and you still can\’t get it right, just remember that with Adobe Photoshop, you can get everything right.

Kansieo.com
